🌍 Germany · Czech Premium Pale Lager · One of 24 Czech Premium Pale Lagers in hopIQ

The Böhmisch Pilsener is Eschenbräu's Bohemian-style lager and a spring seasonal, tapped in February 2025 and again in April 2026 and on the books since at least 2018. The brewery describes a golden beer with Saaz hops in abundance, so the Czech hop sets the aroma rather than the malt. Like everything brewed in the Wedding cellar it is served unfiltered, straight from the tank. Brewed from 12 °P original gravity, the classic strength for a Bohemian pale lager, to 5.0 % ABV.

◌ Aroma

The nose is dominated by Saaz hops, delivering a distinctive floral and herbaceous character with subtle spicy and mineral notes. Underneath, soft malt provides a pale, grainy foundation without competing. A whisper of fresh yeast rounds the profile, speaking to the living, unfiltered nature of the beer.

◐ Taste

The palate opens clean and crisp, with gentle malt sweetness balanced immediately by noble hop bitterness that feels refined rather than aggressive. The body is medium and slightly firm, allowing the hop character to move across the mid-palate without heaviness. A dry, refreshing finish emerges as the beer warms slightly.
