◎ Appearance

Wild Defense presents a bright golden-amber body with excellent clarity and lively carbonation. The head forms quickly and clings persistently to the glass, leaving a fine lattice of lacing with each sip. The visual impression is clean and inviting, suggesting a well-crafted American IPA with proper conditioning.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with vibrant tropical fruit notes—guava and key lime immediately dominate, backed by softer stone fruit from Bosc pear. Noble hops contribute a subtle herbal and citrus undertone that frames the fruit without overwhelming it. The overall aromatic profile is bright and welcoming, with no harsh alcohol burn despite the 7.2% ABV.

◐ Taste

The palate enters with a sharp citrus bite from key lime, followed by ripe guava sweetness and the rounded presence of pear. The interplay between tartness and tropical sweetness creates engaging complexity, while a moderate hoppy bitterness emerges mid-palate to balance the fruit-forward character. The mouthfeel remains crisp and clean, refreshing without feeling thin or underweight.

◑ Finish

The finish is medium-length and clean, with lingering guava sweetness fading gradually into a dry, slightly herbal aftertaste. The tartness recedes but leaves a pleasant memory of brightness on the palate.

Serve at 8–11°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.
