Gablitzer Wiener Lager

Tap to rate

In 1841 Anton Dreher brewed a relatively pale, bottom-fermented and long cold-matured "Lagerbier nach Wiener Art" in Kleinschwechat, and in 2012 the brewer began developing his own recipe on that idea. Vienna malt carries the beer, and the Austrian aroma hop Mühlviertler Perle adds a fine hop note. Amber in colour, with a discreet hop bloom, a full malt body and a mild finish.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with a full, malty body that carries flavors of toasted grain and subtle caramel sweetness. The Mühlviertler Perle provides a discreet, herbaceous bitterness in the mid-palate that balances without dominating. The 25 IBU sits comfortably integrated, allowing the malt's soft character to remain in the foreground.
