Lower Columbia Lager

Tap to rate

A tiny, satisfying hint of sweetness in a light, standard lager. Lower Columbia Lager is 4.2% ABV, made with Adeena hops, 2-row, 6-row and flaked rice. The Fort has brewed fancy, dark, hoppy, malty, Vienna and Mexican-style lagers, and this is the one for when the whistle blows and it is time to crack a cold one in the Lower Columbia region. Can art by Will Elias.

◌ Aroma

Subtle and restrained, with a delicate grain foundation. Adeena hops contribute a whisper of noble character—a touch of herbal earthiness—while the malt presents a soft, biscuity sweetness without dominance. No esters or phenolics; the profile remains clean and approachable.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with gentle sweetness from the Malz, balanced by minimal hop bitterness (12 IBU). Flaked rice contributes a light, dry texture and prevents any cloying sensation. The mid-palate is crisp and clean, allowing the delicate malt and subtle hop structure to unfold without interference. Bitterness remains soft and fleeting.

◑ Finish

The finish is short and refreshing, fading quickly into a faint grain dryness. No lingering harshness or astringency; the aftertaste is neutral and inviting.
