Local Hero presents a pale straw-yellow hue with excellent clarity and a bright, inviting presence in the glass. The head is fine and persistent, with good retention and delicate lacing along the sides. Carbonation is gentle yet visible, creating a soft sparkle characteristic of a well-conditioned Helles.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with a prominent noble-hop character anchored by Tradition and Hersbrucker varieties, recalling fresh lime and citrus zest. Beneath the hops lies a soft, bready malt foundation from pilsner and caramel malt, providing subtle sweetness without overwhelming the composition. The overall impression is fresh and aromatic, with hop expression leading but never aggressive.

The palate is soft and round, with a mild body that lets the hop character shine through cleanly. Entry reveals crisp pilsner malt and a gentle caramel undertone, while the mid-palate balances refreshing hop bitterness (18 IBU) with restrained malt sweetness. The finish is dry and clean, with no harsh edges, leaving lime and grain notes on the tongue.
