Curim Gold

Tap to rate

A filtered wheat beer that sits between the German tradition and an Irish ale, top-fermented with a share of Irish ale malt. Bright gold with a copper tone and a snow-white head. Peach, banana and plum show on the nose and in the taste. An early, higher hop dose than in the German style leaves a slightly tart edge that balances the fruit; the finish is sweet, then noticeably hoppy, with plum and malted wheat at the end. One of the brewery's two launch beers from 1998.

◌ Aroma

The higher hop charge for the style introduces a delicate floral and herbal character that adds complexity without dominating.

◐ Taste

Entry is soft and slightly fruity, with the wheat malt providing a smooth, doughy foundation. Mid-palate develops the promised plum and peach, balanced by an early, assertive hop bitterness that creates a tart edge—distinctly higher than German wheat ale convention. The finish transitions from initial sweetness to a notably hoppy aftertaste with lingering wheat and plum.
