Tasting Notes

AI-generated sensory profile for Caramel Fudge Stout

◎ Appearance

Deep mahogany to near-black in colour, with an opaque body that permits no light penetration. A dense, tan head forms at pour and clings persistently to the glass walls, leaving distinct lacing with each sip. The carbonation is restrained, appropriate to the style's full, creamy character.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with rich chocolate and caramel sweetness, supported by a gentle vanilla undertone that suggests dessert rather than fermentation. Roasted malt complexity sits beneath these foreground notes, while subtle dark fruit esters add depth without overwhelming. The 11.5% alcohol is present but well-integrated, warming rather than sharp.

◐ Taste

Entry is full and creamy, with chocolate and caramel notes coating the palate immediately. Mid-palate develops a satisfying sweetness balanced by 45 IBU of restrained bittering, which prevents cloying and provides structure. The finish is warming, with residual vanilla and fudge-like richness lingering as alcohol heat gradually surfaces.

◑ Finish

The aftertaste is long and dessert-like, with caramel and chocolate notes persisting for several minutes. Warming alcohol and subtle roasted dryness emerge toward the end, grounding what might otherwise feel too indulgent.
