Stammhaus 1895

Tap to rate

Grainy and only lightly bitter, in a pale yellow, slightly cloudy lager that is left naturally untouched. The recipe goes back to 1895. Brewed bottom-fermented from water, barley malt, hops and yeast, 4.8% ABV and served at 5 °C. Behind it stands a brewery in Schaffhausen that has been brewing commercially since 1799, when cooper Bernhard Fischer started in the tavern Zum Zedernbaum.
