Coffee and mocha dominate the nose; on the palate the mocha fades, leaving roasted malt and a light coffee with almost no bitterness, plus a slight tingle on the tongue. Despite the name it pours a dark ruby rather than brown. At 8 % it is brewed on the grounds of the Val-Dieu abbey, where a Christian community still lives, and refermented in the bottle.
