Historically it was a blend of ale and lager, and the ale side still shows. It is clear golden straw in the glass, with a grassy, lightly toasty malt aroma and a fruitiness in the flavour that a plain lager would not carry. The body runs light to medium, the hopping is mild, and the finish is smooth and barely dry.
