Beers similar to Novice Black Tripel

Brouwerij Malheur

Black IPA·Belgium·8.5% ABV·One of 55 Black IPAs in hopIQ·

hopIQ found 10 beers that share Novice Black Tripel's roasted and chocolate character. The brewery's idea of a dark IPA: dark brown, 8.5% and conditioned in bottle or keg. It opens with sweetish fruit, raspberries and pears filling the mouth, beside mirabelle plum, peach and a malt like country-bread crust with caramel and candy. Roasted bitterness lingers into coffee, dark chocolate and nutty, woody notes, the fruit returns, and a touch of sweet sherry and an herbal, spicy edge close it out. Acidity and bitterness stay balanced.
