The nose opens with warm toffee and light caramel sweetness from the crystal and chocolate malts, underscored by subtle earthy undertones. Late-addition hops introduce a gentle spice—black pepper and herbal notes—that tempers the malt-forward character without dominating. The overall expression is restrained and balanced, inviting rather than assertive.

The palate leads with upfront malt sweetness—a smooth caramel and toffee foundation layered with subtle chocolate notes from the darker malts. Mid-palate brings the spicy hop character into relief, creating a gentle tension that lifts the sweetness without excessive bitterness. The finish dries gradually, with restrained bitterness (28 IBU) and lingering spice that encourages another sip.
