Yes — Beck's is still brewed in Bremen, though the brewery has been owned by AB InBev since 2002. The recipe has been quietly adjusted post-acquisition; long-time drinkers argue about how much, but the current version is measurably smoother than the pre-2002 Beck's.
Why is the Flensburger Flip-Top bottle a thing?
It's a Flensburger identity marker going back over a century, tied to the region and the Plopp sound the closure makes when opened — the brand has actively resisted switching to crown-caps despite the higher packaging cost. Also mechanically better: the Flip-Top seals more reliably than a crown-cap once opened, which matters for a beer designed to be drunk from the bottle.
