Proclamation Ale Company was founded in early 2014 by Dave Witham in West Kingston, Rhode Island, starting on a nano system before growing into a larger brewery in Warwick, which opened in December 2017. The woman-owned brewery, located just blocks from T.F. Green Airport in Warwick, was known for hop-forward ales and built a loyal local following over its 12 years of operation. Following the death of founder Dave Witham in 2021, his wife Lori Witham continued running the brewery. After a costly legal dispute with a minority partner drained the brewery's resources, Proclamation closed permanently on May 3, 2026.
