Mauritius Brauerei
In 1859 Zwickau's brewing association broke ground on its Vereinsbrauerei, the brewery that grew into today's Mauritius. The patron saint Mauritius sits in the logo and on the labels, and under that name a strong pale beer went on sale in 1968 for the town's 850th anniversary. Today the brewery at the foot of the Ore Mountains brews with very soft water from the Erzgebirge-Vogtland nature park and malt from regional maltsters.
