Award winningKnown for American IPA

Green Flash Brewing Company was founded in 2002 by Mike and Lisa Hinkley in Vista, California, before establishing its presence in San Diego's Mira Mesa neighborhood. The brewery grew into a nationally distributed craft brand known for bold, hop-forward West Coast IPAs and acquired sister brand Alpine Beer Company in 2014. Following rapid overexpansion, the company suffered a foreclosure in early 2018 and was sold to a group of investors; it subsequently withdrew distribution from 32 states and cut staff significantly. In late 2021, Tilray Brands acquired Green Flash and Alpine Beer Company for $5.1 million. The San Diego taproom has since closed, with production relocated to Fort Collins, Colorado, and the brands continue as part of Tilray's portfolio.

How they compare
Each beer measured against others of its own style, then averaged across the range. Compared with 318 other breweries making American IPA, American Amber Ale and Hazy IPA.
Three beers is enough for a first read, not a full house style — one unusual beer moves this a lot.

Green Flash Brewing Company's beers land close to what is typical for the American IPA, American Amber Ale and Hazy IPA styles they brew. The character is in the styles they choose and how consistently they hit them — not in standing apart from the field.
