Jamaica's most iconic brewery, founded in 1918 by Eugene Peter Desnoes and Thomas Hargreaves Geddes. Brewed the first Red Stripe in 1928; the modern lager was developed in 1938. Red Stripe gained global fame appearing in Ian Fleming's James Bond novels and films. Now majority-owned by Heineken (since 2015). Produces Red Stripe, Dragon Stout, and Red Stripe Light.
