13 Jiskra

Czech Republic·Czech Amber Lager
Tap to rate

Semi-dark, bottom-fermented special of ruby colour, brewed from three kinds of malt and Žatec hops, with a pleasant bitterness. It was brewed in honour of the former owner Ferdinand Jiskra, who from 1938 ran a soda-water bottling plant and a branch of the Plzeň breweries on the site. The brewery thanks his descendants for supporting the revival of the brewery. Unfiltered and unpasteurised.

◎ Appearance

A deep ruby amber that catches the light with warm, translucent clarity despite being unfiltered and unpasteurised. The dense, persistent head clings to the glass with fine Schaumhaftung, and moderate carbonation drives a gentle, continuous stream of bubbles upward through the body.

The mid-palate shifts toward a pleasant, measured bitterness that never overwhelms, balanced by the beer's clean, crisp character.
