Swordfish

Tap to rate

Swordfish was first brewed in 2009 for the centenary of British naval aviation and takes its name from a carrier-borne torpedo aircraft. It is an amber ale made with pale ale, crystal and black malts, Fuggles and Goldings hops and dark unrefined sugar, to which navy rum is added in every brew. The nose shows gentle rum with a warm hop edge alongside fruit. The palate is full-bodied and smooth with caramel and dark sugar, and judges have noted biscuit flavours and a lingering citrus hop bitterness in the rounded finish.
