Tasting Notes

AI-generated sensory profile for Mile Hi Hefe

◎ Appearance

Mile Hi Hefe presents a pale golden hue with the characteristic haze expected from a traditional Hefeweizen—cloudiness arising from suspended yeast rather than any fault. The head is compact and offers moderate retention, with a fine Schaumkleiden (lacing) that gradually fades against the glass. Carbonation is moderate and well-integrated, giving a gentle effervescence.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with distinctive banana esters, characteristic of the yeast strain, followed by a gentle clove spice that rounds out the upper register. Sweet notes emerge in the background without becoming cloying, while a light wheat grain foundation provides grounding. The overall impression is clean and inviting, with no harsh alcohol vapours.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with soft banana sweetness and a fine wheat grain character that frames the mid-section. Dryness becomes evident on the mid-palate, preventing any sugar buildup and creating a refreshing quality that Tivoli has intentionally dialled in relative to classical German examples. Bitterness remains restrained at 14 IBU, allowing spice and fruit to remain prominent without astringency.

◑ Finish

The finish is clean and moderately dry, with lingering wheat and subtle spice notes that fade steadily. The low alcohol (6%) keeps the exit brisk and inviting rather than warming or heavy.

Serve at 5–8°C

Slightly warmer than a lager — 8–12°C allows the banana and clove esters from the yeast to fully develop.

Weizen glass

Tall and narrow at the base, flaring at the top — designed to hold the abundant foam of a wheat beer while showcasing its hazy golden body.

Best fresh. The yeast-driven banana and clove character fades over time. Drink within 4 months.
