Tennent's Super presents a pale golden hue that is bright and inviting, characteristic of its light malt bill. The beer displays excellent clarity with a white, moderately persistent head that fades to a thin collar. Carbonation is crisp and evident, with steady streams of bubbles rising through the glass.

◌ Aroma

The nose is straightforward and clean, dominated by gentle grain and subtle malt sweetness with light bready notes. There is a mild caramel undertone that emerges as the beer warms, while the high alcohol content (9%) adds a faint warming alcohol note. Hop character is minimal, allowing the malt and grain characteristics to take center stage.

◐ Taste

The palate is smooth and full-bodied for its style, with a prominent malty sweetness and bread-like grain character that dominates the entry and mid-palate. The 20 IBU bitterness is restrained and well-integrated, providing balance without assertiveness. The alcohol warmth becomes apparent in the mid-palate, contributing to the beer's strength while maintaining overall drinkability.

The finish is notably clean and dry, with the alcohol warmth lingering pleasantly on the palate. The caramel and bread notes fade gracefully, leaving behind a satisfying, warming aftertaste that is neither harsh nor cloying.
