Netherlands·Belgian Blonde Ale
Tap to rate

Born as 'Rond Blond' in 2017, Slotbier Blond keeps the recipe its founders refined through trial brews with Stadsbrouwerij Middelburg. Yellow fruit, peach and apricot meet light maltiness and a spicy touch, with a green bitterness of thyme and grass underneath and a subtle hop bitterness that comes back as a small bitter note in the finish. Full and round at 7 % ABV, brewed at the Gooische Bierbrouwerij in Hilversum; named Best Beer of the Netherlands at the Dutch Beer Challenge 2025.

◐ Taste

Entry is smooth and full-bodied for its alcohol weight, with the stone fruit sweetness establishing itself immediately. Mid-palate reveals balanced maltiness with a gentle honey warmth, while a green, grassy bitterness and subtle Edelhopfen character emerge to provide structure and prevent cloying. The overall impression is round and well-integrated, with no sharp edges.

◑ Finish

A clean, moderately persistent finish where the green bitterness and thyme-like herbaceousness resurface as a small, pleasant bitter note. The aftertaste remains dry without harshness, inviting another sip.
