Porthleven

Tap to rate

Porthleven is a straw-coloured pale ale, citrus-soaked and finishing with a shimmer of passionfruit – zesty and hoppy at 4.8%, brewed with Cornish water and whole-flower Northdown, Citra and Mount Hood hops. It is named after the iconic surf break on Cornwall's south coast, where the Skinner family rides the waves; Ben Skinner even named his youngest son Leven after one of his favourite surf spots.

Serve at 7–10°C

Cold enough to sharpen the hop aroma without numbing the palate. Around 7–9°C keeps the citrus and pine vivid without losing bitterness definition.

Pint glass

The classic — versatile, comfortable to hold and keeps the beer cool. No frills, no distractions: just the beer.

Drink fresh — hop aroma fades fast. Best within 3 months of canning or bottling.
