Tap to rate

Lushingtons pairs bitter-sweet notes of lime, mango and lychee with a slight creaminess and a hint of juicy strawberry – a hop-laden IPA at 4.2%, brewed with Cornish water and whole-flower Citra, Belma and Willamette hops. It was made for the feeling of a perfect beach, said to hide in a cove between St Ives and Padstow, when the Cornish crowd reach into the cool box for the Lushies.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with juicy stone-fruit sweetness—mango and a whisper of strawberry—that immediately meets a measured bitterness (60 IBU) with excellent balance. Mid-palate reveals a slight creaminess that rounds the edges without obscuring the hop expression. The citrus character persists cleanly, finishing with a dry, lingering bitter note that invites another sip rather than overwhelming.

◑ Finish

The finish is medium in length with a dry, resinous aftertaste dominated by lime pith and noble hop character. Bitterness retreats gradually, leaving a refreshing, mineral-clean sensation on the palate.

Serve at 8–11°C

Serve well-chilled. Session IPAs are at their best cold — the lower ABV means less warmth to balance the hops.

Tulip glass

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.

Drink fresh. Session IPAs are brewed to be consumed young — the hops are at their best now.
