Březňák 12°

Tap to rate

A pale, full-bodied lager. The name Březňák goes back to 1905/06, when the Vyškov brewery first gave it to its 12° beer. Since spring 2025 it has been brewed at Pivovar Záhlinice to the old Vyškov recipe from traditional floor malt, unfiltered and unpasteurised, and it has returned to the beer festival and the Christmas markets.

◐ Taste

Entry is smooth and full-bodied, with the malt building a soft, doughy sweetness across the mid-palate. Low bitterness at 25 IBU integrates seamlessly, allowing the malt character to remain in the foreground. The unfiltered, unpasteurised nature contributes a natural roundness and gentle grip that lingers without harshness.

◑ Finish

The finish is clean and moderately dry, with the malt's breadiness fading gracefully. A subtle mineral quality emerges in the aftertaste, characteristic of the traditional recipe.
