🌍 Czechia · Czech Pale Special Lager · One of 4 Czech Pale Special Lagers in hopIQ

Brewed only for Czech Beer Days in the last week of September, in honour of Saint Wenceslas, patron of Czech beer. The brewery chose selected floor-malted barley for a deep amber colour and a smooth balance, with the bitterness coming from the Sládek Saaz variety grown on its own fields. Full and dense but smooth, unfiltered and unpasteurised.

Appearance

Deep amber hue with exceptional clarity, reflecting the careful selection of floor-malted barley. A dense, creamy head forms readily and clings persistently to the glass walls with fine lacing. Gentle carbonation rises steadily, creating a refined visual presence.

Aroma

Noble Saaz hops greet the nose with their characteristic earthy, herbal quality, complemented by subtle floral notes. Beneath lies a gentle malt foundation—soft grain sweetness without heaviness. The unfiltered character allows faint yeast esters to surface, adding delicate complexity without obstruction.

Taste

The palate opens full and malty, with a clean, smooth malt profile that carries notes of biscuit and light honey. Bitterness arrives with restraint, balanced firmly against the malt body rather than dominating it. The creamy texture persists throughout, lending richness while the crisp finish prevents any cloying sensation.

Finish

The finish remains clean and moderately long, with lingering noble-hop bitterness and a whisper of grain sweetness in the aftertaste. A refreshing dryness emerges, inviting the next sip.
