Olde Frothingslosh

Tap to rate

Malty and crisp, this self-styled pale stale ale carries its foam on the bottom. Created by radio personality Rege Cordic, it was brewed by Pittsburgh Brewing in the 1954 holiday season as Christmas gifts to shareholders and business associates. Word of mouth made it so popular that it went to market in 1955. It returned for the 2024 holiday season at 4.2 % ABV.

Serve at 7–10°C

Cold enough to sharpen the hop aroma without numbing the palate. Around 7–9°C keeps the citrus and pine vivid without losing bitterness definition.

Pint glass

The classic — versatile, comfortable to hold and keeps the beer cool. No frills, no distractions: just the beer.

Drink fresh — hop aroma fades fast. Best within 3 months of canning or bottling.
