Fatebender

Portugal·Fruited Smoothie Sour
Tap to rate

Fatebender is a smoothie sour brewed with Seoul Brewery that deliberately departs from Ophiussa's usual smoothies: Alphonso mango from India, pineapple from Costa Rica and coconut from the Philippines, with a tropical cocktail vibe and a clear coconut note. It was the brewery's first smoothie sour of 2025. 5% on pilsner, wheat and flaked wheat malts. Vegan.

◐ Taste

The palate opens with bright tropical fruit—mango and pineapple dominate the entry with natural acidity balanced against the beer's low bitterness. Mid-palate reveals a creamy mouthfeel from the flaked wheat, while the coconut gains definition without becoming artificial or overly aromatic. The sour character is restrained and food-friendly, allowing the fruit and fermentation complexity to emerge cleanly.

The finish is clean and moderately short, with the coconut lingering gently on the palate. A soft, tangy aftertaste fades to a dry, refreshing close.
