🌍 Australia · American Wheat Ale · One of 35 American Wheat Ales in hopIQ

Aussie Wheat Ale was designed by Harry Sexton as a modern counterpart to Redback, brewed with Australian wheat and the Australian Eclipse hop alongside some German hops. It pours a very pale gold with a light haze. The aroma is zesty, with tangerine flesh and Seville orange, and the high wheat share gives a silky, full palate. A clean fermentation keeps banana and clove out of the picture; bitterness is subtle and the finish crisp and tight.

Aroma

The nose leads with zesty citrus character—fresh tangerine flesh and Seville orange dominate, supported by the Australian Eclipse hop. German noble hops contribute a soft, herbal backdrop. The wheat malz adds a subtle breadiness and soft grain sweetness, while a clean fermentation keeps fruity esters and spice in check.
