Kochám Se

Czech Republic·Hazy Pale Ale
Tap to rate

A hazy pale ale with an unbelievably full, soft body, thanks to the modern Pomona yeast, which also gives it a lovely peach base. American El Dorado floods the palate with sweet tones of tropical fruit and mango, while New Zealand Kohatu frames the picture with fresh notes of pine needles and flowers. The result is dense, properly hopped and still refreshing, from MadCat in Kamenice u Jihlavy.

AI-generated sensory profile for Kochám Se

◎ Appearance

Hazy pale gold with a soft, diffuse glow and minimal clarity—the Pomona yeast creates a permanent, fine suspension characteristic of the style. A modest white head forms and settles quickly, leaving delicate lacing. Carbonation is gentle and steady, contributing to the soft mouthfeel rather than a crisp bite.

◐ Taste

The palate opens smooth and full-bodied, the peach character from fermentation weaving seamlessly into waves of mango and stone fruit sweetness. El Dorado's tropical notes roll across the mid-palate with a honeyed, juicy quality; Kohatu provides structure with gentle pine and green floral notes that prevent cloying. Bitterness is restrained at 8 IBU—a soft, supporting frame rather than a focal point—allowing the fruit and yeast character to shine.

◑ Finish

The finish is dry and clean, the sweetness fading quickly to leave a lingering echo of peach and floral notes. A pleasant refreshing quality emerges as residual fruit fades, making this beer easy to return to.
