Hawkshead Rye IPA

Tap to rate

Brewed with a local pub to celebrate its fourth birthday, and made to pair with hot smoked Cumberland sausages. Full, rich, spiced rye flavours meet Tettnang, Amarillo and Chinook hopping, which adds robust aromas of grapefruit, pine and a spicy, smoky earthiness. The result is a rye IPA at 5.3% that tastes of spice and smoke as much as of hops.

◐ Taste

Entry carries full-bodied spiced rye character with a slightly grainy sweetness that immediately mingles with herbal and piney hop bitterness. Mid-palate develops earthy and smoky notes that echo the aroma, while the hop profile adds persistent grapefruit and a dry, resinous texture. Bitterness is moderate and well-integrated, finishing clean without harshness despite the 60 IBU foundation.
