Atlantic IPA

Tap to rate

Citrusy and hoppy, with exotic-fruit aromas meant to recall the produce piled on a market stall at the corner of Atlantic Road and Electric Avenue: Citra, Simcoe and Galaxy over extra pale malt, wheat and dextrin, at 5.4% and 35 IBU. The hop motif on the design reimagines the tiled thistle at Lounge Bar further up the road, and the platform graphics nod to the station looming overhead.

◎ Appearance

Pale golden with excellent clarity and bright, active carbonation. The head forms quickly and clings to the glass with fine, persistent lacing. Light catches the beer's translucent body, characteristic of the extra pale malz base.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with pronounced citrus—Meyer lemon and grapefruit zest—layered over exotic stone fruits and light tropical notes from Citra, Simcoe, and Galaxy hops. Beneath the hop-forward character, a subtle biscuit sweetness emerges from the malz and wheat, grounding the aromatics without dominating.

◐ Taste

Entry is crisp and clean, with citrus and resinous hop bitterness building through the mid-palate. Tropical fruit notes—passionfruit, mango—develop alongside a light floral character. The 35 IBU provides assertive but balanced bitterness that never turns harsh; the dextrin adds a delicate body that keeps the beer refreshing rather than cloying.

◑ Finish

The finish is dry and medium in length, with lingering citrus pith and a gentle herbal resinousness. Carbonation carries the bitterness cleanly through the aftertaste without leaving residual sweetness.

Serve at 8–11°C

Serve well-chilled. Session IPAs are at their best cold — the lower ABV means less warmth to balance the hops.

Tulip glass

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.

Drink fresh. Session IPAs are brewed to be consumed young — the hops are at their best now.
