Avery The Maharaja Imperial IPA

◎ Appearance

Light amber to pale gold in color, with excellent clarity and a bright, translucent quality. The head is dense and persistent, clinging to the glass with fine lacing as it settles. Carbonation is lively and well-integrated, creating a dynamic surface.

◌ Aroma

The nose is dominated by intense tropical stone fruit and citrus notes—ripe mango, papaya, and grapefruit pith leap from the glass. Underlying this is a warm caramel malt sweetness that anchors the hop volatility without overwhelming it. A subtle floral and herbal edge from the noble hops completes the aromatic profile.

◐ Taste

The palate enters with bright citrus and stone fruit immediately, followed by a substantial caramel and toffee richness in the mid-palate that supports the beer's 10% alcohol weight. The bitterness builds steadily and finishes assertively, lingering without astringency. The full body and alcohol warmth are present but well-balanced by the malt foundation.

◑ Finish

The finish is long and bitter-dry, with citrus and herbal notes persisting through the aftertaste. Residual warmth from the alcohol remains pleasant rather than sharp.

Serve at 8–11°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.
