🌍 Chile · Brown Ale · One of 27 Brown Ales in hopIQ

Austral Yagán honours the Yagán people, canoe navigators and divers of the icy waters of the Beagle Channel whose knowledge helped early settlers survive in the far south. It is the only dark beer of the core range and pours mahogany. Coffee and bitter chocolate open the aroma. The palate is creamy, recalling mocha, with roasted barley adding a dry, toasty edge and a gentle bitterness that keeps the dark malt from turning sweet.

◐ Taste

The palate is creamy and full-bodied, with mocha flavours developing immediately and carrying through the mid-palate. Roasted barley adds a dry, toasty edge that prevents the dark malts from becoming cloying, while a gentle bitterness provides balance and structure. The malt sweetness is present but always checked by the roast character.

◑ Finish

The finish is medium in length, with the roast and gentle bitterness lingering pleasantly without becoming astringent. A light dryness persists, inviting the next sip.
