On the palate the malt meets lively citrus fruit and a suggestion of mint. The finish is bittersweet from Challenger hops, dry and lingering, with traces of biscuit, chocolate and fruit. A chestnut-brown session bitter, 3.8% in cask and 4.0% in the bottle. In 1980 it was the brewery's only beer and went to eight pubs.
