Founded in 1994 on the Big Island by father-and-son team Cameron Healy and Spoon Khalsa. Kona grew into America's most recognised Hawaiian craft brewery — Big Wave and Longboard are now distributed nationwide. The Kailua-Kona brewpub overlooking the Pacific remains the spiritual home. Acquired by Craft Brew Alliance (now Kirin) but still brewed on the island.
