Originally known for their Op-Ale (launched 1953), they became famous for brewing Affligem abbey beers after partnering with Affligem Abbey monks in 1956. The brewery was acquired by Heineken between 2000-2003 and renamed Affligem Brouwerij, eventually becoming part of Alken-Maes.
