Bass
Bass began in 1777, when William Bass started brewing in Burton-upon-Trent, and its red triangle became the first trademark ever registered in Britain. Through most of the 20th century Bass was a top-five cask ale and one of the country's great beer exports. Today the brand belongs to AB InBev, and Bass is on the rise again: in 2025 it was the fastest-growing of Britain's top ten cask brands, with volumes up 23 per cent.
