Mango Jaipur

Tap to rate

A bold, juicy tropical note from mango sits on top of the powerful flavours already found in Jaipur. It is the latest in a run of extra-flavourful twists on the flagship that Thornbridge developed with Morrisons, following the earlier Pink Grapefruit Jaipur. The base beer is the 2005 flagship that put Thornbridge on the map.

Tasting Notes

AI-generated sensory profile for Mango Jaipur

◎ Appearance

Pale gold with excellent clarity and a bright, fine head that holds well and leaves distinct lacing on the glass. The carbonation is lively, manifesting in a steady stream of small bubbles that sustains the foam throughout the drinking experience.

◌ Aroma

Mango dominates the nose with ripe, juicy stone fruit character layered over a foundation of pine and herbal Edelhopfen. Beneath the fruit sits a subtle biscuit and grain character from the Malz, creating a balanced aromatic profile that avoids cloying sweetness.

◐ Taste

The mango character carries through on the palate with genuine fruit juice quality, complemented by a firm but not aggressive hop bitterness of 60 IBU. The mid-palate shows caramel undertones and light citrus, with a crisp, dry attenuation that prevents the adjunct from overwhelming the balanced IPA foundation.

◑ Finish

The finish is clean and relatively short, with the mango character fading to leave a dry, pleasantly bitter hop impression. A touch of tropical fruit lingers as the aftertaste settles.

Serve at 8–11°C

Serve well-chilled. Session IPAs are at their best cold — the lower ABV means less warmth to balance the hops.

Tulip glass

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.

Drink fresh. Session IPAs are brewed to be consumed young — the hops are at their best now.

What is a IPA?

IPAs are hop-forward ales with 5.5–7.5% ABV and IBU 40–70+. Bold hop aroma — citrus, tropical, resinous — with firm bitterness and a dry, clean finish.

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same tropical, juicy, fruity character as Mango Jaipur will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
