🌍 Venezuela · American Adjunct Lager · One of 11 American Adjunct Lagers in hopIQ

Venezuela's national beer, brewed by Cervecería Polar in Caracas since 1941 and by far the country's most-consumed beer. An American-style adjunct lager on pale malt with a large corn share — that's what gives it the gentle, sweet-grain character and unusually light body. Very low bitterness (~10 IBU), soft, faintly bready, meant to be poured ice-cold. 5% ABV. Polar Pilsen is Venezuela in a glass: the beer of the beisbol stadiums, the corner store on any Caracas block, and every Caribbean beach — an identity brand that has outlasted decades of political and economic turmoil.
