🌍 Paraguay · Euro Pale Lager · One of 45 Euro Pale Lagers in hopIQ

Paraguay's oldest beer brand — launched 12 October 1912 by the Bossio brothers, who imported Czech-Bohemian brewing equipment to Asunción. A pale golden pilsener in the continental European mould: mostly natural malt with only a whisper of unmalted cereal, hopped for a distinct noble-hop nose — grassy-herbal aromatics, a floral edge, and a lift of fruity ester from the fermentation. Medium-dry finish, ~13 IBU, 5% ABV, light body. A different animal from Latin America's corn-heavy adjunct lagers. Brewed at Cervepar's Ypané plant since 1995.
