◎ Appearance

Bright golden-amber hue with excellent clarity and fine particulate suspension characteristic of the style. A thick, creamy head forms on the pour and maintains robust lacing throughout the glass, indicating good protein and hop content. Carbonation is crisp and visible, with consistent small bubbles rising through the body.

◌ Aroma

Dominated by Nelson Sauvin and Motueka hop character, presenting striking passionfruit and white wine aromatics with underlying gooseberry notes. The nose is intensely fruity and tropical, with subtle herbal and floral undertones that add complexity. Malt presence is restrained, allowing the hop expression to occupy the foreground without obstruction.

◐ Taste

The palate enters with assertive tropical fruit and citrus notes before a firm, well-integrated bittering structure emerges mid-palate. Nelson Sauvin's stone fruit character and Motueka's white wine qualities develop fully across the tongue, supported by a clean, minimal malt backbone that provides balance without sweetness. The finish builds progressively toward a dry, resinous bitterness that persists without harshness.

The aftertaste is long and dry, with lingering bitterness and residual hop character that echoes the tropical and herbal notes from the nose. No cloying sweetness remains; instead, a clean, slightly astringent quality frames the conclusion.

Serve at 8–11°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.
