Fürstenberg Export

Tap to rate

Fürstenberg calls this the first export beer of southern Germany: brewmaster Josef Munz created it in 1886, it travelled as far as Brazil as Danubia-Exportbier, and Bismarck chose it as his house beer. Brewed to 12.2 °P, it pours crystal clear and golden under a fine white head. The brewery describes a nose of fresh hay over light malt, then a full palate in which barley and malt lead, rounded off by a pleasant hop bitterness. Older labels read Edel or Original Export.
