hopIQ found 10 beers with the same fruity and sour character as Pineapple & Passion Fruit Sour. This summer sour at 4.7% starts from a plain blonde ale base. A special yeast produces lactic acid alongside alcohol during fermentation, and large amounts of pineapple and passion fruit purée go straight into the fermenter, adding an acidity of their own. The result is lively and fruit-driven, with a zesty edge: tangy pineapple and tropical passion fruit on the nose, the same pairing on the palate. It is released in the brewery's numbered Limited Edition series, where this combination has appeared before. Ranked by flavour match rather than popularity.
