Finisterra announces itself immediately—thick, almost syrupy mouthfeel with roasted chocolate and espresso that doesn't shy away. There's a warming alcohol heat underneath that creeps up toward the finish, and the body feels substantial enough to chew on. Dark fruit notes peek through the roast, almost like raisins or plum skin. At 9%, this thing has presence; it's built for slow sipping, not casual drinking.

Sinebrychoff Porter

Sinebrychoff's porter is tighter, more composed—roasted grain and cocoa without the heaviness. The alcohol is there but integrated, not announcing itself. It drinks cleaner, crisper even, which surprised me given it's still a proper porter. There's a slight herbal or licorice edge that cuts through the dark malt sweetness. This is a beer you can actually finish without feeling like you need to lie down.
