Deep black with ruby highlights at the edges when held to light, revealing the true depth of the dark lager. The head is modest but persistent, laying down a fine ring of lacing as you drink. Brilliantly clear despite its opaque appearance, with gentle carbonation that suggests restraint and balance.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with restrained roasted malt and subtle coffee notes—no aggressive char or burnt character. Beneath lies a grainy, slightly bread-like sweetness typical of quality Franconian Malz, underpinned by the faintest herbal whisper of noble hops. The overall impression is clean and composed, inviting rather than demanding attention.

◐ Geschmack

Entry is clean and dry, with roasted malt providing structure without heaviness. The palate remains light and crisp despite the dark color, coffee and toast notes lingering softly through the mid-palate without any burnt edge. Bitterness is measured at 25 IBU—present but never harsh, allowing the dry finish to dominate over lingering sweetness.

The aftertaste is short to medium, fading cleanly with a final whisper of roasted grain and coffee. A dry, slightly mineral quality persists, characteristic of well-attenuated dark lagers, with no cloying sweetness.
